Massive milestone today!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A long time ago a neighbor of mine gave me a leather mini skirt from the 70's or 40's (I can't remember) made of Spanish leather that she had bought in Spain. She loved this skirt and thought I'd like it and I love it too.

Well, the last time I put it on, I was 16 and I haven't been able to get it on since.

But I got it on today! Buckled all the way up!! I'm so excited! I'm still about 10-20 lbs away from being able to wear it in public, but it's a major motivation for me. It's the one thing on all of my goal lists for losing weight. I'm so proud of myself, lol!

Ok, so I got a shot in the butt yesterday (hehe, B12) and a prescription for an apetite-supressor (prescribed by my doctor, obviously, I'm no suicidal, lol). And a god a hunger-fighting hearbal tea today. Work like a frigging charm, man, I had two crackers with hummus and I feel like I'm gonna burst.
Tomorrow I start working out again and I am so psyched!

Ok, so I've been a very bad girl today. But how often do you go to Solvang?

Wow, I fell off today. Easter cookies, I confess, and Flat Earth chips. "Good" does not equal low-cal, people! I know that, of course, but they're so good! Lol. Back on track tomorrow, I swear!

Tea would be great. I'm still quite congested... I've been getting pretty winded.

Well, Ive been away too long, I know that. My scale's been wiggy, but it's fixed now. I went to the gym yesterday, after who knows how long an absence, and did about 5 miles on the bike over random hills on level 10 (whoo!). But my whole body's acting funny; my legs hurt all the time in weird places, my heart felt weird today, and I've got a cold but I've ditched archery too much lately.

Diana, Don't forget a good multi Vitamin like GNC's Mega Women Active to help with potassium. Keep at it, you're doing great. - Steph

Well, two hours when my calves don't conspire against me, lol. I have a potassium deficiency, so on days when I'm prone to charlie horses, I only do an hour and eat a banana, lol.

I had a very good day today. My school makes a lovely chicken, blue cheese, pear, and candied walnut salad with raspberry vinaigrette. I had most of it and a bit of lightly sweetened black tea with a friend for lunch and a very nice breakfast. I'm planning on a light dinner and a mad burst of DDR right now.

That's probably why I hate weighing myself, lol. I get too willing to just shoot myself. :p

Lol! I'm the opposite! I weigh myself twice a day sometimes! It makes fat days unbearable, lol

Definitely a good start, luv! My problem is I have this aversion to weighing myself... I've actually only gotten on the scale twice since I've started. I know, I know. I'm trying to get better... especially since I read that regular weigh-ins are really helpful to the cause.

Well, I lost 2.5 lbs yesterday, started by bi-weekly walks with Breanna, and started my Nutrition class. Off to a good start, I think!

Lol, yes I heard that too. I've been trying to only weigh myself every week, or every other day if I absolutely can't wait. It's hard, I understand.

Oh oops, I typoed. The wellness guy at the hospital said I should NOT be weighing myself every morning. He said if I was going to obsess over numbers to think about inches and not pounds.

Thanks Donna!
My problem is that I eat too much! I need low-caorie high-density foods like apples and pears and such to keep me fuller longer. Also, I munch when I'm bored, lol, so I need "free" snacks or lots of fluids.

Yesterday
Breakfast: 1/2 bageil with light cream cheese and smoked salmon, coffee with fat-free half-and-half and 2 teaspoons of sugar and a bottle of Dasani

Lunch: My special tomato soup (one can of diced tomatoes once can of vegetable broth=55 calories perserving), a slice of whole wheat bread, a sliced apple, iced coffee, and a bottle of LifeWater

Dinner: Half an avocado sandwich, 1/3 cup broccolini, and a virgin bloody mary

Snacks: 1 Banana, Flat Earth chips

All together that is 1203 calories, lol, just enough to stay alive and lose weight.

Wow, you are doing great! Make sure you get enough calories though or you will actually gain weight. When I was going to curves and doing their diet program I quit losing and started gaining and it was because I wasn't eating enough. I tend to nibble like a rabbit and I don't like to keep track of what I eat. I keep busy during the day so a lot of times I don't realize I'm eating so little! When I actually sat down and figured out how much I was eating it was less than 1000 calories and I was almost 170 at 5'5" and very active all day at work. I went to a wellness check at the hospital (I work there and they do that for employees) and I am learning a lot about things - mainly that I should be weighing myself every morning. Hopefully I'll start to see my weight go down! Good luck to you!

Thanks Steph!

I actually don't like Crystal Light. Sucralose makes me wretch. But SoBe LifeWater is quite agrreable to me, if a bit expensive. I've been re-using an Ethos bottle as a 3-cup approximation, lol. 2 of those and a LifeWater and I'm set!

Onto today:
Breakfast: I had EggBeaters and buttered whole-wheat toast a couple hours after my early-morning snack of a granola bar and glass of cranberry juice.

Lunch: I had a bowl of organic roasted red bell pepper and tomato soup with a ham and swiss open-faced sandwich, a cup of mandarin oranges and an iced coffe (yes, with sugar, lol). A couple hours later I had another glass of granberry juice.

Dinner (I haven't had it yet): Carrots (Mum says "cooked in some way", lol) and leftover pasta, and maybe a little fruit-chunky stilton. And probably another virgin bloody mary *licks lips* And for desert, a raw fresh pear.

I'm rather proud of myself today. According to a computer program I need for my Nutrition class, I've eatten 1050.66 calories today and that if I eat 1228 calories daily, I can be at my total weight by August 1, 2008! I'm so chuffed about that!

Diana,

You're being very mindful of what you're eating and that's great.

Have you tried adding a low-cal, flavored mix to your water, like Crystal Light?

Thanks for joining the avatar group. I love the photo you're using.

Ok, I slipped a little today. *sheepish* I had a fancy full-fat coffee drink and half a 4" pepperoni pizza with my mum. However, I forfeited my mid-morning snack and ate nothing else for lunch, so I can justify it to myself somewhat. I don't feel too bad about it because I was and absolute saint yesterday, drinking my full 8 cups of water (and plain water, which makes me nausceous). I also wore a pedometer yesterday so, though I didn't walk 10,000 steps like I would have liked to, I know how much more I need to work to accomplish that goal. So, all in all, I don't feel too guilty :D

I was proud of myself yesterday. I stretched without hurting myself, lol, and I bellydanced for a full 30 mins. Also, I ate pretty well, lol, so that's good.

Ok, so today I'm doing pretty well.
Breakfast: Stollen and a cuppa coffee. Ok, not great, but I wasn't here for Christmas!
Snack: Mixed berry protein shake and a handful of salted peanuts.
Lunch: virgin bloody mary and a cup of Eating Right Tomato Basil Pasta Soup

That's all for now, as it's noon-30. I'm going to a gaming session tonight so my challenge to myself is to have only one soda and no snacks.

Exercise: I bellydanced for 15 minutes (my back started to hurt)
